I’ve been a plus size guy since for a long time and had accepted it as being normal. Then come the 3rd week of October where a tonne of realisations hit me like a Mack truck.
On average, I am 176cm in height, 125kg in weight, and size 42-44 pants. 1st week maybe 2nd week of November, I started training, initially only doing at best 5 push ups a day, all thanks to loosing a bet on the price movement of BTC on a youtube bookmap channel.
This has led a major shift in the way I viewed my life and seriously needed to change my lifestyle. Since loosing the bet, I have been able to at least maintain 5 push ups every morning which has helped begin the start of the change.
Then the next step was to get rid of all sugar based snacks out of the house and at that time I was addicted to Coles Bakery Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies. This thing tasted damn good too.
The sugar cravings were to say the least, very strong in the first two weeks and I was constantly vocalising that I had the sugar cravings. Luckily I was fortunate enough to have supportive people around me to ensure that I did not eat any sugars. The cravings did eventually become more subdued over the following two weeks, to which conscious eating became easier to manage.
At the same time my exercises incorporated more push ups and walking up and down flights of stairs. Once the sugars were cut out of my life, the next target was to start removing carbohydrates out of my meals. After the sugar cravings was easily controlled becoming more consciously aware of what I was eating became easier. For example my lunches and dinner, I had refused to eat root vegetables such as potatoes and carrots and opted for broccoli and cauliflower.
By the start of the third week, people were noticing that I was not just loosing weight but I was actually shrinking in size. In regards to food intake,
Breakfast mainly consisted sultana bran
Mid morning a banana
Lunch would be anything that served at the place I am working at
Afternoon snack something small
Dinner something like below
By this stage I had conducted a lot of my own research such as metabolic flexibility, green Mediterranean diet, Keto and intermittent fasting, trying to understand why my lifestyle changes were working and easily sustainable.
What made the most sense to me was the metabolic flexibility which led me to insulin and leptide resistance. I will post more on this later. To which I had accidentally incorporated all of the things that I was researching into my new current lifestyle. Add to this, my training regime is now twice a day, first session performed when I wake up, second session after dinner.
The results so far
Will continue the journey of my new lifestyle.
